SPINACH DAL

This is one of my favorite dishes because of spinach. The Spinach mixes well with dal and the aroma is just tasteful. Here is the recipe TO DO LIST.

TO SAUTE
Oil, Mustard seeds and curry leaves, Turmeric- 2 tb spoon

INGREDIENTS

Yellow Moong dal – 2 cups
Tomato –2 small sliced
Onions – 1 big sized, thin sliced
Green chili/pepper– 2 (spicy)
A pinch of red chili powder
Cilantro/ coriander
Spinach–4 cups (cut into small and wash in water) The
moong dal and Spinach ratio should be maintained in 1:2 ratio
COOKING

Cook dal in pressure cooker for 2 whistles and smash it to paste consistency as told in sambar recipe. Keep it aside.
Add up all ingredients and Saute for 2 minutes. Then add green chili and onions, saute until onions turn golden brown color.
Add tomatoes and cook until it is mixed well with onions. If required, add little water.
Add spinach and cook for 10 minutes. Add dal and cook until spinach mixed well with dal, then add salt to taste.
The green chilies we add will give taste to dal but still if required a table spoon of red chili powder could be added. After cooking is done, decorate with coriander leaves.

HAPPY COOKING!!!
